Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen did well at athletics and enjoyed rough, physical sporting events. She combined this interest with the natural ability to acting. As evidenced by winning pretty much every Feis award for drama and performances in the theater that her nation offered. When she turned 14 years old, she was accepted into the famous Abbey Theater and pursued her aspirations of classical theatre as well as operatic singing. Charles Laughton was mesmerized after taking an Maureen screen examination. He was captivated by the stunning eyes of Maureen. Laughton, along with his partner Erich Pommer changed Maureen FitzSimons' title changing her name "Maureen O'Hara" which was a shorter name to be used on the marquee. They then cast her as an actress in Jamaica Inn, (1939). Maureen FitzSimons' second movie (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame 1939) was set to be produced by RKO Pictures in America under the terms of a contract with Laughton. Maureen had the opportunity to purchase her contract from Laughton when the movie was a huge success. At 19, Maureen was already in two motion picture majors together with Laughton.
