In America The early performing arts accomplishments of young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the child prodigy category. The traits she displayed were normal for a child born in Ireland, surrounded by gifted parents and a loving, supportive family. Maureen was born in Ranelagh - a suburb of Dublin - Ireland, on 17 August 1920. The mother of Maureen, Marguerita Lulburn FitzSimons was a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based firm and also owned a stake in "The Shamrock Rovers" famous Irish soccer squad. Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons made up this beautiful family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was an infant and was extremely proficient at them. Her talent for performing was the perfect match for her interest in sports. This is why she won the majority of the Feis Awards for her dramatic and acting performances in her country of birth. When she was 14, she had been admitted to the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study operatic singing and classical theater.
